Planes, Trains, And Automobiles: Travel Tips for Children of All Ages
Ahhh, the summer months. Weekend, week-long or summer-long getaways. A time to relax and enjoy, but first you have to get through the chorus of “Are We There Yet?” By car, train, plane, or bus, here are some tips I’ve found helpful when preparing to travel (and traveling with) kids of all ages.

Father’s Day Activities
Happy Father’s Day to all of you Dads, Granddads, Uncles, and male caretakers out there! You all deserve to be celebrated today.

A Mother’s Day for YOU
This Mother’s Day, don’t forget to take some time out for YOU. I’ve put together a list of some favorite Mother’s Day (and beyond) activities to do for a little “me” time.

Limiting Your Child’s Screen/Tech Time
Although some screen time can be very educational and a lot of fun, it’s very easy to go overboard and become dependent on this technology when it comes to your children – technology as nanny to the rescue! If you are one of those parents concerned about how much time your child spends watching TV or playing video games or on an iPad, there are sensible ways you can balance out the virtual and the “reality.”

Letting Go: Mother, Not Smother
When I talk about not being a “Smother Mother,” what I’m really saying is, to mother your child is to enable your child to learn grow and develop, mentally physically and emotionally. Looking at what you can do as a parent to enable those areas in a healthy way, so that you do not smother your child from the life skills and lessons that they need to learn in order to have the ability and to be capable to eventually think for themselves. So, they won’t be completely co-dependent on you beyond their years necessary.
