In light of the news of Abercrombie & Fitch marketing a push-up, padded bikini top to children as young as age seven and Wal-mart’s announcement that they are introducing a line of make-up for 8-12 year old girls, I thought it was time to write about ‘tween fashion and parenting/caretakers dealing with appropriate dress at this stage.

The first step to have parents start healthy eating habits is by doing it themselves It all start with you and how you approach food and cooking. We equate anything healthy with being good for you. So what we’re really talking about is developing good eating habits for kids.

When Technology Is Ok
It’s important to realize there are always two sides, good and bad, to technology. For years experts have been talking about the negative affects and overuse, but there are positives to technology as well. There are times when technology is ok and should be embraced by families. It enables us to communicate with those far away and allows us to have an enormous amount of information at our fingertips.

Do You Know What Your Children Are Reading?
An Alabama publishing company will release a new volume of Mark Twain’s “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” and “Huckleberry Finn” that will replace words/phrases that are not politically correct including the n-word, “Injun” and “slave” (and others). Everyone is entitled to their opinion on whether they believe this is the right thing to do to an historical piece of literature or not.
