Family Field Day

Before the weather turns cold (or as it starts to warm up, depending on what hemisphere you’re in), set aside a time one weekend for a “Family Field Day.” Have your kids come up with backyard activities (from water balloon tosses to relay races, basket/soccer ball dribbling contests, to three-legged races). In advance,  have a craft time with the kids to make homemade medals and awards for the winners. Combing family time, physical activity, the outdoors, and crafts time makes everyone a winner.
