Easter Eggs and a Weekend Adventure

JoFrost.com checked in with Kathy, Tyson, Telsche, and Skyla just after Easter to see what the bunny

left them and if spring has finally sprung in their Canadian province.

It seems this month has flown by. As always we try to squeeze as much into everyday
as possible in our family. The weather is slowly changing to spring conditions.
Telsche and Skyla seem to crave the outdoors so we try to spend as much time as
possible outside walking, going to parks, learning to ride tricycles and watching
bugs.

Tyson had an extra day off over Easter weekend, making it a special time for all
sorts of family fun. We took an overnight trip north of the city to Muskoka.
Grandma and Papa came along, too. We went swimming at the indoor pool (Skyla’s first
big swim), played at the best park ever. We also listened to loons on the lake and Telsche
got to sleep in a giant bed. It was a wonderful night away and the girls were great with the
change of routine and sleeping somewhere new.

The Easter bunny definitely came to our house this year. Telsche was overwhelmed on
Easter morning when she found large plastic eggs hidden everywhere. They were stuck to
the walls and hidden on all the furniture. She had so much fun putting them all in her
very own basket. When she realized they opened and had stickers and a few tiny
organic bunny gummy bears in them she was in easter heaven!

Skyla is so smart and knew right where to look for her eggs.
She crawled right over to her favourite standing toy and found
the large egg stuck right on top. It was filled with rice puffs (her fav). She spent
most of the morning playing with all the pieces of her new farm puzzle.

Tyson and I both grew up having fun hunting for eggs Easter morning. (Although we
weren’t allowed to eat anything sweet until after breakfast. Our girls only know and
enjoy different versions of healthy treats (unlike the pure sugar chocolate treats
we used to have as kids:) so we try to instill these values for every holiday, when
treats are around. It's a challenge and we have to be creative, but it's
working.

We hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend. This picture enclosed is of the girls
enjoying their swings at Grandma and Papa's house. Papa made sure they both had a pink swing!
