We’ve enjoyed watching the Eidt family grow (literally) over the past two years. This will be Kathy’s last update on the family as Little Nippers is taking a hiatus for a bit. We want to thank Kathy, Jason, Telsche, Skyla, and little Hannah for sharing their lives with us. We’ve enjoyed having them be a part of the site and our lives.

We have had an amazing and very busy fall/winter. The Christmas holidays have been packed with first skating experiences, sledding, many family visits, crafts, movies and so much more. The girls loved Christmas this year and really got into the experience of Santa coming. We even had a shelf elf, who watched over our house through December. The girls named her ‘cookie pants’.

Hannah is almost 8 months old and is so sweet and lovely. She is very big and eating all her new solid foods so well. She loves watching her sisters run around her. They are so good to play with her and are very gentle. I am so thankful for this. The transition from two to three kids was so much easier than one to two for us.

Telsche is doing great at school. Opening up to some new friends and really engaging herself in the lessons.

Skyla continues to surprise us everyday with her very outgoing, playful manner. She will continue to keep us on our toes I am sure.

In 2013 we hope to have a healthy busy and fun year. Keeping the girls busy with school, swimming, and new activities.

It has been our pleasure to be featured as the Little Nippers Family. Thank you so very much to Jo Frost and all of her team for following us. This is something we will remember forever. Happy New Year, everyone! May it be a very healthy and happy one.

Sincerely,

The Eidt Family

September has been a whirlwind for the Eidt’s. Skyla started Preschool and she loves it. There hasn’t even been any transition issues. She goes one morning a week and every other friday morning. She is exhausted when she comes home.

Telsche started JK. She hasn’t stayed the full day yet, but we hope this week. She is quite shy going to school, but the teacher says she is doing great. We secretly watched her at recess one day and she was running around and playing. She was last to line up from the playground. She had a fall on the playground structure and came home early one day, but she is warming up to her busy life at school. She has changed a bit the way she is acting at home since. A little bit more emotional and acting out. Hopefully that is just because of the transition to school.

Due to the girls being so busy and the fact that it’s darker earlier, they have been sleeping a little better at night. Bedtime is earlier again, and they settle with less fuss. Skyla is still napping, but Telsche resists a nap — although she is much happier if she has one when she is home. Hannah is a dream sleeper. I think with the third baby I have a little bit of sleep training/schedules experience under my belt.

We are anxiously awaiting Halloween this year. To date, we will have Telsche as a princess and Skyla as the Tiger. We’ll see if that changes over the month. We spent the last day of September at the Frootogo farm with friends of ours. It was so awesome. They had so many things for the kids to play on, a tractor ride, great lunch and, of course, pumpkins. We all slept  soundly when we got home.

The end of summer is here. We have thoroughly enjoyed this summer and really tried to max out our outdoor playtime. The summer has been filled with splash pads, pools, the zoo, vacation, parks, picnics and hikes. It almost makes me exhausted to think about it all.

The older girls are really playing together a lot lately. Their imaginations are wild, but purely magical to watch. I would say that they are both more confident at the parks and pools now. Skyla is quite clumsy but she is by far the toughest in our family. Telsche did amazing at her first trip to the eye doctor, and her first time at the dentist. I was so proud of her. Skyla had her first haircut too. She has such beautiful blonde soft hair.

Telsche is starting junior kindergarden this month. She is so excited. We have been pretending around the house with her backpack and lunch bag. That way she can get used to opening and closing the bag and lunch containers. We also have been having her put on/take off her shoes as much as possible. I have given them a few in house picnics with all the items packed in her lunch containers. Although the teachers will help them, I want her to be able to do it herself. Grandma has bought her a few pre-school learning books that we have been practicing in. She can spell her name and is working on writing it. We are also still working on her remembering our phone number. Just because I like to be extra cautious, we have also taken her up to her new school and showed her the outside boundaries for recess time. Just to be safe.

Skyla is starting pre-school this month. The same pre-school Telsche went to last year. We love the teachers and environment there. I am not worried about her at all, I think she will just love it. She will go one morning a week for now. She was on a great kick of going to the potty. I know, how exciting, but it has faded for now. The girls are on opposite days at school, so that I can have some alone time with each of them when they are not at school.

Hannah is thriving. She is so big and smiley. One look at her button cute face and you can’t help but smile at her. I have no doubt that she will be rolling over this month and grasping at toys.  This is a picture of us on one of our many hikes behind our house. Hannah is in the sling in the back with me.

Our Little Nippers family took a summer holiday. How did it go for Kathy and Tyson traveling with their three girls, which included a potty training toddler and an infant? Kathy fills us in.

Our family of five had an awesome summer holiday, we are feeling just so lucky to be able to experience a vacation. Tyson and I decided before we left there was only one rule, no rules. February was all about bubbles and bedtimes. The girls had their first bubble bath. We just don't usually buy the soap with foaming bubbles, but the girls loved it! It has been an amazing bargaining chip all month. They have fun, putting them on each other's head and chin. They are so cute together … most of the time 🙂  (Click through to read more from Kathy …)

We win some and we lose some! That seemed to be the theme throughout January for us. Of course let's talk wins first. We managed to have Daddy and Papa assemble both of the new single beds for the girls. They look so sweet in one room, with pink sheets and a cute headboard for  their books and animals. Both Telsche and Skyla were so excited about them. Telsche was very happy to have her sister share her room…(Click through for more)
