3 1/2 month old’s sleeping difficulties

My 3 1/2 month old daughter is:
(a) a cat napper – she naps for 3-4 30 minute naps daily and everything I have done to lengthen these naps, has failed miserably. Whether she is in her swing, on my lap, in her crib or in her stroller being moved around she will still wake up after 30 – 40 minutes.

(b) a bad night sleeper – despite having implemented an early bedtime routine, once she is down at around 8 p.m., she will wake once before midnight and then another 3 times before 7 a.m. the next morning. When she wakes, most of the times she does not need to feed, I just need to encourage her to go back to sleep either by rocking her or by aiding her to get to sleep herself using thumb sucking.

I wouldn't mind the bad napping if she would at least sleep better in the night. She is otherwise a healthy and happy child and not fussy at all. I am just suffering from sleep deprivation
PLEASE HELP – Alexandra

Can I advise you to buy Jo's book, she has a baby book out there "Jo Frost's Confident Baby Care" which will help to tweak your daughters sleep pattern and eating pattern to help it work out regular as she knows what you are going through right now."
